Sail Portsmouth NH

Who we are

The Piscataqua Maritime Commission (PMC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the maritime heritage of the Piscataqua River basin. Our flagship event each summer is Sail Portsmouth, bringing Tall Ships to the NH Seacoast. Our all-volunteer Board, along with hundreds of members and volunteers, have successfully hosted visiting Tall Ships for more than two decades. We strive to make each port call an highly anticipated Event for our region, as well as a rewarding experience for the ships' captains and crews.

Proceeds from Sail Portsmouth and the support from our Sponsors fund sail-training scholarships for area students in our Sea Challenge program.

The PMC sponsors Maritime Talks, often in partnership with other organizations, throughout the year. These informative and lively programs, open to the public, are presented by engaging speakers who address topics relevant to our rich maritime history.

The Piscataqua Maritime Commission is a member of Tall Ships America and the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce.
